Two quick question...really need serious answers.?

1. I had a yeast infection & someone told me to put yogurt on a pad and wear it for a little while. This gets rid of the bad bacteria & adds good bacteria. My question is does anyone know how long I should wear the pad & how often I should do this (by the way I'm pregnant- that's why I'm not doing monistat)

2. After having sex, my tummy feels like I've done 1000 situps, is that normal. Also, even if we weren't extreme or rough and took our time during intercourse, I'm still exhausted, is that normal too.

Thanks!! No rude or stupid comments, please.

    1) thats the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard. i'm sorry, its not your fault...if someone told me to do that and i didn't know any better...ya know...maybe i would. i dunno. but if you have a yeast infection, and you are pregnant, you definitely need to get to the doctor. sometimes even if you AREN'T pregnant, its important to see a doctor before treatment, just in case thats not what it is.

    2) it sounds like you have a vaginal infection of some kind and you really do want to go see the doctor! so call right now!!! :)

good luck!!! and tell that person who told you that although in theory that might be a "good idea" its just not. eating yogurt can help prevent yeast infections...but wearing it is probably nothing more than uncomfortable...

First, the bacteria in yogurt is for your intenstinal tract and whoever told you that may be either trying to play a sick joke or is truly naive about how yogurt can benefit you... also, you can safely use meds for yeast infections. I had to with our first and even though it was SCARY, our little boy is a normal, healthy 4 year old now... call and ask your Dr if you really are concerned because NOT taking care of a yeast infection can possibly be a bigger threat to your baby than the meds you use. You baby is protected by your cervix and a thick mucus plug, plus the placenta, so try to keep that in mind also.

Also, since yogurt is milk based, leaving in a warm place like that may actually cause more harm than good... if you leave milk.dairy out too long it goes sour quickly-and not to be graphic, but that area on a girl is warm, so I have a feeling that may really cause bacteria growth...

Also, the yeast infection meds are internal. Putting something against your skin, like some vagisil, can relieve external symptoms but won't clear up the infection... definately talk to you Dr...

I'm honestly stumped by the person who told you that...

As far as the sex issue, I'm not sure. I get VERY sore, as if a 50 pound bowling ball is pushing down on the top of my cervix, but not the painful, sit up feeling... sorry I can't really help with that.

I get yeast infection all the time during pregnancy. My doctor told me to use the over the counter like monistat or vagistat, but when that didn't work I called her back and she gave a prescription for a suppository. And I took it for the 3 days, and it cured it up. I would not put yogurt on a pad, that doesn't sound normal, also think of the mess you will be making.

Don't put yogurt on your pad, it contains sugar, sugar will just make the infection worse. Go to the dr if you have a yeast infection and are pregnant, if there is anything to do they will

Cramps are normal after sex, if they last too long ask your dr about it.

lol! whoever told you that is silly!

i was told (before being pregnant) to EAT yogurt that it helps with yeast infections. My dr actually told me that. Since becoming pregnant i had a yeast infection and my ob gave me diflucan. she said its safe.

As far as sex you prolly just get exhausted easily bc you have something else taking the energy you would usually still have afterward. the stomach feeling...im not too sure about.

    best of luck!

Don't put food on your vagina! That's just common sense! Talk to your doctor about your yeast infection. S/he will give you sound medical advice and instructions. But for the love of God, don't go putting food there! (Seriously, talk to your doctor. Don't start ANY medications or remedies w/o talking to your Dr. first!)

It is completely normal to feel a little cramped and uncomfortable after sex. However, if it lasts more than a half hour, or is severe, contact your doctor.

My dr said it was perfectly safe to use monistat for a yeast infection when you're pregnant. Never heard of using yogurt.

you do NOT put yogurt on a pad. If you eat yogurt it can help. Best is to go to the Doctor especially since you are pregnant.

As for your tummy, thats normal.

well i have never in my life heard of putting yougurt on a pad and wearing it...i would ask your doctor hun...not being mean it just sounds odd to me...

its pretty normal to feel the way you do after sex...your growing a baby in there its real normal to feel exhausted. as long as your not bleeding then you should be fine....try not worrying to much hun and seriously talk to a doctor about that yeast infection

1- leave it on for an hour or two just while your in the house and it's handy make sure its natural yogurt containing good bacteria not just any yogurt.

2- yeah this is normal, dont worry it wont hurt the baby it's just the uterus squeezing during an orgasm. It's not the same as a contraction though, think of it as giving your baby a big hug.
