Has anyone cooked squid in a New England Style Chowder?(how to cook it)?

I am a former chef and while I have never used squid in my clam chowder, the rule of thumb with squid and octopus is either fast and hot or long and slow, in between you have either erasers or elastic bands, if you want to add it the best thing to do is either start it in the soup while the potatoes cooked for 30-40 minutes or in the end just quick saute some in a flavorful garlic butter and put it on top as a garnish.
