How to wear suspenders?

Ahhhh! I LOVE the suspenders! Love 'em love 'em love 'em.

Now, these are two sets I made using suspenders:

I LOVEEE these sets so much. They just tie everything together and make it look so excellent.

However, they are two completely different looks. I think it all lies in how you accessorize it.

I think that if you wear shorts with them, they should be kind of...Dressy shorts. Shorts with class. Not your average Daisy Duke. Now, your shoes can change the whole air of the outfit. If you decide to wear, say, Converse, it gives it a more indie/punk feel, whereas if you wear flats it can kind of give the suspenders a vintage look.

Suspenders also work with skinny jeans of any color, but any other jeans don't really work so well.

I also LOVE suspender skirts. They're so adorable.

Now, what you wear with your suspenders depends on the look you're going for. You could wear a bandanna, a band tee, bangles, Vans and skinny jeans for a kind of scene/emo/punk look, or shorts, a beret, a vintage graphic tee, pretty rings and flats for an indie look. Play it up and have fun with it. C: You could combine anything -- pumps, Converse, flats, blouses, tees, jeans, shorts, hats, bows.

It's really a versatile thing.

Or you could wear them with skinny/straight-legged jeans. Wear a white top underneath. Wear a black pant--if the supenders are black. Concert T's would work too. Wear some vans with it; like the white and black checkered ones. That'll look very cute.

Or you could always just let them hang. That looks cute too.

i'd say shorts, with solid colored tee's... cuffed shorts (made of dress pants material, not like denim) tend to look really good with suspenders because they resemble the dress pants that suspenders originally go with..
