UK non - venomous spider bites?
I have a friend that has recently gotten some spots on her skin. I personally think they might be spider bites. Here are the symptons, it starts off as a small itchy patch of skin. Once she starts scratching it it swells up into a lump and becomes quite hard. It then stays this way for 2-3 days and then it comes down and leaves a dark mark which fades within a week. she has developed about 7 of these 'bites' If you have any idea as to what this might be or any advice as to prevention/treatment please reply accordingly

All tarantulas bite but some are less likely than others, go for a docile species like a Chillian Rose or my favourite the Mexican Red Knee. As for venom, all Tarantulas are venomous and it is a common misconception that they have it removed, but this doesn't mean you have to worry about getting bitten unless you are allergic. They are venomous but they cannot kill you, in fact no recorded human death in history has been from a tarantula bite. Though the bites aren't particulary dangerous some species bites hurt like hell and some no more than a bee sting. Do some research on the tarantula first so you can pick the right one for you. Hope this helps.
