I do this as a dessert at a dinner party. Go to the garden center and purchase 3"-4" terracotta flower pots and saucers (wash them real good & dry them). Place a doubled piece of aluminum foil in the bottom of the pots (to close up the hole). Take a plastic drinking straw and cut it to just 3/4" below the top of the pot. Now take slightly softened ice cream (your favorite flavor), and carefully pile the ice cream into the pot, keeping the straw centered. Pulverized the chocolate wafers (or Oreos) to make the dirt. Now put the "dirt" onto the ice cream. Freeze pots. When ready to serve, place a fresh flower (with stem) into the straw and place on saucer in a dessert plate. Makes a unique dessert.

The other night I made the most delicious dessert. It was really fairly simple but did involve hot oil, so be careful. The result was absolutely amazing and everyone in my family, including me, loved it.
Heat vegetable oil in a pot. Wrap sliced-in-half bananas in thin rice paper (or whatever Asian wraps you can find that resemble egg roll wraps). Use a little egg white to hold the wrap together, and then drop in the hot oil. Leave in for a few minutes until the outside turns golden and crispy. Remove bananas from oil and place on paper plates to get liquid off. Serve with a toppings bar of honey, confectioners sugar, cinnamon, brown sugar ice cream, cinnamon ice cream, and dulce de leche ice cream, and fresh berries (straw, blue, black). It's a fun dessert that lets people be creative. If you decide to cook it, Enjoy!

I like the other poster's idea about fruit, but I'd do something a bit more ....
Fruit and Roasted Red Peppers with Chimichurri:
1/4 cup diced pineapple
1/4 cup diced watermelon
1/4 cup seedless green & red grapes, cut in half
1/4 cup diced cantelope
1/4 cup diced roasted red peppers strips
1. Combine all ingredients in a food processor fitted with a metal blade and process until smooth
2. Set aside in a large bowl
To make the Chimichurri: (Spicy Mint)
1 tablespoon red chili flakes
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup fresh squeezed lime juice
1/4 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
1/4 cup chopped cilantro
1/4 cup chopped parsley
2 tablespoons chopped garlic
1 teaspoon chopped shallot
1 cup chopped fresh mint leaves
1. Combine fruit and red peppers with chimichurri sauce.
2. Mix well to coat all fruit.
3. Cover and set aside to allow to marinate for 10-30 minutes
(If you want, you can also crumble some cheese on this. I would try anything that goes well with fruit; like Gouda ... smoked gouda is even better)

Fruit pizza.. sooo yummy
1 package of sugar cookie dough spread out in to a pizza pan and bake according to package directions, be sure not to over cook, even a tad under cooked is fine, you want it to be soft when they eat it.
Mix together 2 packages softened cream cheese and a jar of marshmellow cream
When the cookie is cooled spread the cream cheese mixture evenly on the cookie
cover with different types of fresh fruits I prefer raspberries, strawberries and Kiwi.
Refridgerate until you serve it, slice like a pizza

I say upside down fruit cake, one of my favs. Its so easy to make and its just yummy!
1 large can of mixed fruit
1 box pineapple cake mix
Drain the juice into a messuring cup ( you will use this instead of water).
Prepare the mix as directed: using the juice in place of the water. If you do not have enough juice, use water for the rest.
Oil the bottom and sides of baking dish with veggy oil using a paper towel.
Pour fruit into the dish covering the bottom, Pour the cake mix over the fruit. Bake as directed..
Cut and serve fruit side up warm or cold, I like mine warm its so tender and yummy!
