If We Have Anti-Discrimination Law, How Can Qs On Here With "X"Only Answer Be Legal?

So often I see on here "Christians only" or "men only" or "women only" etc..to me if you are going to post on an open message board, you should be willing to view everyones opinion, and not automatically count their opinion out because they are a different faith/gender/colour/whatever to you?!

Surely everyone who/what/wherever they are from has an equal right to express an opinion?

You're looking at it the wrong way. Everybody lives a different life and sometimes somebody just wants to see how a different group of people think on the subject. It's not descrimination -- it's communication. A man wanting to know how a woman feels about something, etc. Through that they can learn stuff.

Also, you're still free to submit answers even if you're not in the target group of the question. I've answered a lot of questions that were supposed to be Guy-only, and I think I got the Best answer in one of those once.

    Easy..

anti discrimination laws have nothing to do, with you or me, and "selecting" those with whom we wish to communicate. No law against me selecting my friends.. if I run a business, I don't legally have the option to discriminate in hiring, based on certain things.

I fully agree with you that here, in yahoo.. it is senseless to ask a question and only look for answers that support my point of view. That really is not a question. Totally dumb, in my opinion to do that. And, no one is bound by their "limitations".

I agree.. WHY ask anything, if you don't want to hear different perspectives?? You may learn something in the process.

However, they are just being dumb. Not breaking any law.

That is not discrimination but zeroing in where the most insight would be found. No different then commercials aimed at the under 30 crowd or limiting the drinking age to 21.

Sometimes the questioner is interested in a certain groups opinion. Nothing wrong with that.

Anyone can give their opinion here.

And the Asker is free to ignore anyone he wishes as well.

Freedom of speech works both ways!

some younger patrons may feel more at ease asking their same gender.

The anti-Christian lot, are just crying out for help, and we pray for them

you can really tick em off by answering anyway, it's fun try it, or the ones that say don't answer "x", those are sitting ducks for sarcasm too

Source(s): it's how liberals think, they can't help it!
