Hockey Question:

Is there anyone in particular from the 2008 draft that you think will have a significant impact in the NHL this year?

Update:

You- (good point) Ladies and Gentleman, is a joke directed at our good friend Homes based on a question asked earlier today. The items and descriptions of this question may not be diseminated without the expressed written consent of the Iceman.

How dare you continue to torment me! It is just not fair! I am never coming back to play with you guys again!

    To answer your question: Stamkos.

    P.S.- I sent you an e-mail.

  • The easy answer is Stamkos, but frankly, not sure you want Barry Melrose nurturing and developing him. You want a coach with a pedigree who will work with him; on the plus side for Stamkos, he goes into a locker room with some decent "leaders" (Lecavalier, St. Louis).

I'd have to say one of the young stud defencemen is more likely to have an impact; maybe someone like Doughty. Think about the 2005-06 season; everyone was enamoured with Ovechkin and Crosby, while Phaneuf quietly stepped in and was a horse in Calgary.

Yeah Steve Stamkos. All the other high end picks were defenseman and it's just unrealistic to think that an 18 year old defenseman could come in and make an impact in his first NHL season.

How dare you put down Haley she just spent 52 billion to shove Sammy into a still ( though i also think she had a personal reason for the Purchase)

No...it will be someone that will be brought of from the minors that was not expected to make an immediate impact

many on here don't understand sarcasm or joking. (Homes will, though.)

you may want to add some extra details.

draft: um ... frankly, i don't think so. but i'm not going to get into the reasons. it's just a gut feel. and i guess how you define "significant".

wait, are we talking draft beer, or hockey draft?

joe - lol. i was being sarcastic ... about the sarcasm, if that's possible. some on here are VERY touchy. i figured the smiley face would give it away too. but i feel like i have to write a disclaimer for everything i write (and was rewarded w/ a slew of violations). otherwise the section goes into a downward spiral of irrelevancy.

Maybe Homes realizes that you have a life. (see the last comment on my post)

Here's a long shot Justin Azevedo with the Los Angeles Kings, drafted in the 6th round. Watch his dust. He has something to prove.

    Yeah Ice those two are the worst. :-}

Mattias Tedenby for me as a Devils fan is someone that I hope has a serious impact on my team.

Other then that whether it be a Positive or negetive impact Stamkos is someone I'm curious about his future!!!
