Resume issues....how far back do you go?
I recently moved and am for the first time in a very long time needing to do a resume. How far back do I need to list previous employment? Is 10 years long enough or should I go farther back? I have been working for the past 25 years and have approximately 7 jobs....do to divorce, business closings and moving. Any advice would be welcomed. Thank you

As an HR Mgr, let me tell ya, go back ten years - or twenty five, but keep the resume to a page. Hopefully you followed some sort of common path with each job, if not, be prepared to talk about why you didn't (and the issues you mentioned above are fine).
Keep the resume crisp and use bullets to make it easier to read through.
Good Luck!

I would go all the way back to either college graduation or when you started on a career path (even if it's changed over the years). Don't include any summer jobs, internships, etc. However, for anything over 10 years old, I would just list company, title, location and dates worked not accomplishments while there....unless of course you did something really stellar. I know the general rule is keep it to one page, but for long employment histories like yours, going onto a second page shouldn't be a problem.

Try to stay within the last two years, companies want to know your most recent experience. If what you are applying for does not have any reelevance to your occupations in the last two years or you have little experience put it all down. If you need resume help I am really good at writing them. Email me.
