Question about Noah's Ark for Christian literalists?

I know - it was kind of hard to for me to believe this at times also.

Remember though, Noah just needed two dogs. Not terriers, German Shepherds and all that. They were done later by breeding.

The ark was huge. It was multi-storied. Larger types of animals may not have been fully grown yet.

Except for fish in the aquarium, some species never get drowned on deep water. Even if the flood swept them inland or away, their deaths will have no match to the numbers of eggs the survivor will lay and hatch. Then you also have to understand that the world in the eyes and knowledge of Noah was only the world he knew and have roamed about and also possibly from what he heard from the immediate people around him as to how far have they gone on their travel which mostly were on foot. This is evidenced by their knowledge that the world was flat. There are other areas that was not affected by that flood and it is also not true that Noah's children have repopulated the world by themselves. Your math is good but it is not necessary in your argument.

Genisis 6

19 Bring a pair of every kind of animal—a male and a female—into the boat with you to keep them alive during the flood. 20 Pairs of every kind of bird, and every kind of animal, and every kind of small animal that scurries along the ground, will come to you to be kept alive.

Genisis 7

13 That very day Noah had gone into the boat with his wife and his sons—Shem, Ham, and Japheth—and their wives. 14 With them in the boat were pairs of every kind of animal—domestic and wild, large and small—along with birds of every kind. 15 Two by two they came into the boat, representing every living thing that breathes. 16 A male and female of each kind entered, just as God had commanded Noah. Then the Lord closed the door behind them

Perhaps there weren't that many species back then. And remember that of the unclean animals it was one male and one female, but of the clean animals it was 7 of each.

Actually it was seven of every clean animal and only two of the unclean, so thats a hell of a lot less space.

You would think that they'd give the fairy tales up by now.

Yes every animal on the land. The ones that lives in water could still survive in the flood.

Kind is different from breed. There are many breeds of horses, but all Noah needed were 2.

the bible said that God commanded 2 (male and female) of every kind.
