Pain in pregnancy?

I'm just under 5 weeks pregnant, for the first time, and I've been having minor pain for a couple of days now. It's mostly on the left side, toward the middle, pretty low, and comes and goes. It's not very intense, but I really want this baby to be ok. I know it's too early for an ultrasound, but could this be normal? It's my first time being pregnant and I'm pretty scared about it.

im no doctor but, at the beginning of the pregnancy your body is starting to get used to something that was never there. Your organs and all the stuff in there is moving around and may cause a bit of cramping, sometimes it can be like period pains and discomfort. Don't worry though it's pretty normal, it's more concerning if you were bleeding, usually you can request an ultrasound once your about 8 weeks, just to make sure that the baby is growing correctly and is in the womb. Don't be scared it happens.

It is most likely your uterus stretching. As your pregnancy goes on you will get used to a lot of different kinds of pains, and in time you will worry less.

Stress isn't good for baby though, so try not to get worked up about it, and if you are still concerned, a chat with your midwife might put you more at ease.
