  • I guess I had a blighted ovum?

I'm supposed to be 9w4d pregnant. I went to my first Dr. appointment today, and they found a sac but no baby. He didn't tell me more than that, he just wanted me to get blood work.

I know my dates can't be too far off because my last period was Feb 15, and I got a positive pregnancy test Mar 15. I'm assuming this is a blighted ovum? I'm so heartbroken. I wanted this baby so badly.

For any of you that have experienced this, what can I expect? Will I probably miscarry naturally eventually?

  • First prenatal appointment?

I'm 7w1d pregnant with my second, and so far I haven't had any problems. I'm working out some insurance issues, and I'm probably not going to have coverage until the end of this month. My question is, I'll be almost 11 weeks by then. Is that too late for a first appointment? Can I wait until then, or should I go ahead and pay for this appointment without insurance. Those of you that have had prenatal care without insurance, do you remember how much the first appointment cost?

  • Blue dye pregnancy tests?

I took three blue dye pregnancy tests (equate brand), and all three were positive. Now, I'm reading that the blue dye ones give false positives all the time, so I'm worried! Has anyone had a positive on a blue dye test that was accurate? How many have had false positives on blue dye tests?

  • BFP...but should I trust it yet?

For about a week I've been feeling quite pms-y and frequently have had mild cramps like I'm about to start my period. I was supposed to start my period today, and took a test this afternoon that was positive. My question is, I don't have sore breasts or extreme fatigue like I did at this point when I was pregnant with my son. What are my chances, in your opinions, of a chemical pregnancy or false positive? When should I test again? Thanks guys!

  • 5 weeks pp, breastfeeding, period already?

I gave birth vaginally to a beautiful little boy 5 weeks, 3 days ago. I never stopped spotting since the birth yet, but it had turned pink/brown and was very light. Today, I'm bleeding more and it is bright red. I'm having a little cramping as well. Is this my period already, even before I've stopped bleeding completely from the birth?

I'm also breastfeeding, which I've heard usually delays the return of a period.

But is this a period or something different?

  • Is it ok to have more than one baby shower?

I'm 30 weeks pregnant. In the last week, two of my friends that I know from completely different groups of people have expressed the desire to give me a baby shower. I feel a little bad about having more than one, but the thing is I probably would not combine the two groups as they don't know each other. So, if I accept just one offer, I'm not sure what to say to the other as they would probably not be invited to the other shower.

So, my question is, since the offers came from two different people who know me in different circumstances, is it ok to accept both offers and have two baby showers? Or is that unethical or tacky?

  • Doctor said my amniotic fluid is a little low?

I'm 20 weeks, 5 days pregnant. had a routine ultrasound 2 weeks ago and went to the doctor yesterday to get the results from the tests they did. The doctor says that my amniotic fluid looked a little low and that she wants me to drink a ton of water over the weekend and come back in Monday to check it again. Has anyone else ever had this? I know having enough amniotic fluid is essential especially since I'm nowhere near my due date yet. If you have experienced this or know about it, what can I expect? Will drinking enough water probably help?

  • 12 weeks, 6 days and leaking...something?

Hello, I'm 12 weeks, 6 days pregnant, just had my 12 week ultrasound and everything looked great. But for the past couple of days I'm feeling more wet down there and when I go to the bathroom, there has been some drops of moisture in my underwear. I sneezed hard yesterday and there was a little more. Am I leaking urine? Or could it be amniotic fluid? It's not like mucous, it's just liquid. I'm sort of freaked out about this? It's not a lot, the most is a little bigger than a quarter size spot on my underwear, but I'm worried. What could this be?

  • 12 week ultrasound and prenatal appointment?

I'm 12 weeks, 4 days pregnant, and I'm going to the doctor today for my first ultrasound and second prenatal appointment. What can I expect? I'm a first time mom-to-be and I'm nervous about everything... I already had the pap smear and blood work at my first appointment, what can I expect this time?

  • Gas in pregnancy? So embarassing...normal?

I'm 9 weeks 4 days pregnant, and I'm finding that in the evening/night I tend to have a lot of gas. I'm embarrassed about it and I'm wondering if this is normal? Are there any safe meds to take for it?

Also, I know I asked this before, but I'm pretty anxious...I had my prenatal blood work done last Thursday (the 14th) testing for anemia, diseases, blood type, sugar, etc. When do results usually come?

  • I got my prenatal blood work done last week, when do results come?

I'm 9 weeks, 4 days pregnant. Last Thursday, the 14th, I went for my first prenatal appointment and got blood drawn for my prenatal blood work. I'm assuming they will contact me if there's any problems? In your experience/opinion, what is the time frame I can expect results back from the doctor?

  • My first prenatal appointment is today...I'm scared!?

I'm 23 years old, 8 weeks 3 days pregnant with my first baby. I've never been to a gynecologist and I'm terrified of my first appointment today. I know I should expect a pap smear, blood work & urine sample, but I'm so nervous I'm sweating like crazy and my stomach is in knots...

Any advice as far as what to do and what questions to ask?

  • Terrified of ectopic pregnancy?

I'm 8 wks 1 day pregnant, and since about week 5 I've been having minor pain mostly on the left side of my lower abdomen off and on. My first doc appt (after the qualitative preg test at the clinic) is on Thursday, but I'm scared. The pain is not constant or bad, and sometimes I do have light pain more centralized or on the right, but it has been focused on the left side. There has been no bleeding whatsoever, but I'm only 8 weeks pregnant. Have any of you experienced this?

  • Pain in pregnancy?

I'm just under 5 weeks pregnant, for the first time, and I've been having minor pain for a couple of days now. It's mostly on the left side, toward the middle, pretty low, and comes and goes. It's not very intense, but I really want this baby to be ok. I know it's too early for an ultrasound, but could this be normal? It's my first time being pregnant and I'm pretty scared about it.

  • Pain, I'm so scared. Any chance this is ok?

I think I'm pregnant - my period is 3 days late, and a test from 2 days ago was positive. Today I'm having some off and on minor pain on my left side, similar to the feeling if I have some pain when I ovulate. I'm so scared of a tubal pregnancy. Have any of you felt this?

  • I think I'm paranoid...it's just I want a baby so much!?

My husband and I have been ttc for about 6 months. My period was supposed to start either Sunday or Monday. I've taken two different brands of pregnancy tests, and they both are positive - just a little faint. What I'm wondering is, what are the chances that this is just a chemical pregnancy and I'm not actually pregnant? I've been exhausted for about a week, mild cramps off and on, breasts are fuller, no period yet and the hpt's are positive, but I'm so paranoid that it might just be a chemical pregnancy - what do you guys think?

  • My employer is making me take vacation time for jury duty?

I received a jury summons and have to appear today. After receiving no response from 2 supervisors for several days when I tried to alert them of this, I tried again this morning and received the response that I had to make the hours up or they would count against my vacation time. Is this legal?

  • Very faint lines on pregnancy test?

Hubby and I have been TTC for about 6 months now. My period is due either today, tomorrow or Monday (I'm slightly irregular) and I took a pregnancy test this morning. The control line was dark, but both lines in the response window were faint. Actually, the positive (vertical) line was a little darker than the horizontal line. I'm confused. Was this probably a bad test, did I do it wrong, or is there a chance I'm really preggo?
