Gas in pregnancy? So embarassing...normal?

I'm 9 weeks 4 days pregnant, and I'm finding that in the evening/night I tend to have a lot of gas. I'm embarrassed about it and I'm wondering if this is normal? Are there any safe meds to take for it?

Also, I know I asked this before, but I'm pretty anxious...I had my prenatal blood work done last Thursday (the 14th) testing for anemia, diseases, blood type, sugar, etc. When do results usually come?

The gas thing is very normal. It comes from the change in hormones in your body. Nothing to be embarrassed about. You could also try eating smaller meals to help it. I'm not sure how long it takes for the test results to come back.

  • Yep gas is part of being pregnant, perfectly normal. I wouldn't take anything for it, maybe just limit foods that cause gas.

You usually get your blood test results when you go for your next prenatal unless there's something to worry about (like anemia they would want you to start iron asap)

It is perfectly normal to have the gas. I hate it, but it's a normal part of pregnancy. I haven't taken anything for mine, but I'm trying to watch eating anything that might make me gassy. Test results usually take about a week to come in. Mine took about 10 days. Good luck!

Unfortunatley the gas will probably just get worse and nothing really helps. I didn't have that problem with my first but my second it was awful (although my husband thought it was hilarious).

About the blood work, they will send it to your doctor and unless there is any type of problem they might not even mention it.

    Perfectly normal, part of pregnancy.

And if there were any problems with the blood work they would of called by now, but if it would ease your mind, call them and they will tell you everything was fine! Promise! ( I did the same thing!) :) Good luck!
