Very faint lines on pregnancy test?

Hubby and I have been TTC for about 6 months now. My period is due either today, tomorrow or Monday (I'm slightly irregular) and I took a pregnancy test this morning. The control line was dark, but both lines in the response window were faint. Actually, the positive (vertical) line was a little darker than the horizontal line. I'm confused. Was this probably a bad test, did I do it wrong, or is there a chance I'm really preggo?

It sounds like what my test did! A couple years ago I wasn't patient enough to wait until my period was due, so like the day before or so - I can't quite remember - I took an early pregnancy test and the lines were there but super light. I thought the same thing you did - did i do somthing wrong or is this it?! Anyway, took it again a few days later and it was obvious - I now have an adorable (yet noisy) 2 year old boy! It is very rare for even a trace of a false positive. Sounds like Congrats are in order!!!!

As long as the line in the control window showed up the test is more then likely fine. If your result lines are faint but are diffidently there more then likely your gonna be a mommy. Light lines just mean there really isn't a lot of HcG hormone in your urine either because it was diluted from drinking something or you are just early in your pregnancy. Call the doc it sounds like you maybe having a baby. Good Luck

If you got a + sign, no matter how faint, and you read it in the right time frame, then you're pregnant. Check out http://www.peeonastick.com/ and see some preggo tests for yourself. The site is great! It even answers some FAQs, shows the positive results others have gotten, and tells the sensitivity of various tests. Congrats!

When I took the test with my first baby the other line was so faint I could hardly see it but It was there and it turned out I was pregnant. You can have false negatives but there is no thing as a false positive.

When I took my pregnancy test.. the lines were VERY faint..and I freaked out... because I thought I wasn't but then maybe I was?? Because the main line was soooo faint. Just like you're describing.

    ......I was pregnant. lol.

But I don't want to get your hopes up, there is a good possibility you are.. but the best thing to do is go to the gyno. They gave me a pee test..and it was only $11, with no insurance.

    Good Luck!

sounds like a + to me as long as you left it the right time and not to much over it but take another test in about 2 days and do it first thing in the morning congrats

I had the same outcome...I was pregnant! Go to the clinic and be tested if you want to know for sure or wait a little while and try again.

    God bless you!

    Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any positive line - however faint - indicates the presence of hcg... Call your doctor for a blood test to confirm.
