Doctor said my amniotic fluid is a little low?

I'm 20 weeks, 5 days pregnant. had a routine ultrasound 2 weeks ago and went to the doctor yesterday to get the results from the tests they did. The doctor says that my amniotic fluid looked a little low and that she wants me to drink a ton of water over the weekend and come back in Monday to check it again. Has anyone else ever had this? I know having enough amniotic fluid is essential especially since I'm nowhere near my due date yet. If you have experienced this or know about it, what can I expect? Will drinking enough water probably help?

i had low fluid with my daughter, just make sure to drink alot of water and keep hydrated so you can keep a good amount of fluid coming to the baby. after they checked my fluid the 2nd time they kept me coming back about every month or so just to make sure it was still good. im sure your fluid lvls will get back to normal if you drink alot of water.

My aunt had less than 10% of her normal amniotic fluid when she was pregnant for the second time around with her son. She had him a little early at the most a couple weeks. He is now a normal 8 year old boy, small for his size, had a dairy allergy for the first 7 years of his life but now it has resolved and when he was a baby he had a problem in his stomach that he had to have surgery for and now he isn't able to ever vomit. But I would suggest if your OB still finds you are a bit low in the fluid to go and get a second opinion from a high risk OB. I had an ultrasound at 22 weeks that they saw a bleed on which is Placenta Abruption and I went to another OB and he was amazing compared to my original one and I loved my original one.

EDIT: Not quite sure why I got the thumbs down..

I even have the very comparable situation. At 36 weeks my rfile informed me my amniotic stages have been on the "low area of generic." they did no longer placed me on mattress relax, yet did tell me to drink a lot of water. confident, it quite is authentic that amnio stages cut back through fact the being pregnant progresses, however the medical doctors understand the place the ranges would desire to be at, so I actually have a tendency to hearken to them. i'm 38 weeks now and my rfile informed me the former day that they are thinking inducing me this weekend through my amnio stages and the phobia that my toddler could be plagued by IUGR (Intrauterine boost restrict) i've got additionally been having non-stress exams when you consider that 33 weeks to maintain a verify on my little female. verify you drink diverse water and relax, through fact the rfile stated. it quite is approximately all you're able to do at this element. good success to you.

I went through that. it was really frustrating because I felt like I was drinking water all day long and I was always low. I got it back up after a couple weeks.

    Drinkning the water will help.
