Disbelief without evidence is an unforgivable sin?

"When Atheists time come and they die they will be sent to hell as punishment of the unforgivable sin."

- Nick G

So it's worse then Mass Murder, Serial Rape, Human Sacrifice, Necrophilia, Chain Saw Juggling, and Injecting Puppies with Syphilis? Combined.

Not he said 'the unforgivable' not 'an'.

I asked a question along these lines, a few months ago, comparing myself and Hitler!

The key point is repentance. So long as in your heart, you accept that what you did was wrong and are truly sorry, you can ask God for forgiveness and you will be forgiven, no matter how bad the things you have done!

The problem for us atheists, (though we don't see it as a problem) is we do not believe there is a God, so we can not ask for forgiveness. We could say the words but they would be meaningless as they would not come from the heart.

Since the only route to salvation is to ask for forgiveness, we've got no chance, no matter how good we have been in our lives!

Even people like Gandhi are going to hell!

To be fair, not all Christians and Muslims think this way; If the answers I received are anything to go by, about half of them do, the rest say it is how you live that is important.

Ok this is one of the iffy situations about the bible and stuff, truely I dont believe there is an unforgivable sin besides suicide. Because if your're really sorry God will forgive you.

I don't believe in sin, I live by the "Golden Rule" and the belief in the scientific laws of the Universe and biological evolution. DNA rules the world.

That's really up to God. But I suppose it might be a more difficult sin to forgive because an atheist is unlikely to ask God for forgiveness.

Yea, isn't that lovely? Hitler, mass murderers, child molesters can all "go to heaven" if they confess their sins before they die.

Yea, sure....thank goodness it isn't true.

Yet I remain unmoved still, by even this Revelation.
