Does James Dobson's involvement in this election annoy you?

He seems to think his "endorsement" will just make or break John McCain and the Republican party. Now he's generously considering giving McCain his endorsement.

Does anyone else find this--I don't know--a bit arrogant and high-handed on his part? Or, alternately, does it matter to you how and who he endorses?

Dr. James Dobson has about as much credibility as the "Rev" Jesse Jackson as far as I'm concerned. All either of them are capable of doing is riding coattails and taking potshots at others.

Intelligent people ignore BOTH of them and focus on the real issues in the election.

Any minister endorsing any politician annoys me. I remember when the last election was going on , more ministers preached Bush than Jesus. I finally quit going. Not quit believing.

As a Christian I believe that God sets people in power to full-fill prophecy. Good and bad.

But also it bothers me because there are some people who can't distinguish between God and their Pastor, No matter who he says vote for they will ( blindly) I am actually ashamed of the way politics and Christianity have become one and the same in some minds. I actually heard you can't be Christian if you aren't Republican. ( I have no party) Give unto Caesar that which is Caesars , and give unto God that which is Gods.

Some people think because of this opinion I am stupid, actually I have an IQ of 135. I just think if you say you trust God , than do it and don't try to elect another one.

Sadly, he's right. A Republican cannot win without support from the evangelicals. So, if he does not endorse McCain, that may well doom him.

Of course, I'm annoyed that Dobson shares the same biological classification as I do, but that's another matter.

Any chance that I might have voted for McCain ended when Dobson began considering endorsing him.

James Dobson annoys me on general principle. since i am not voting for McCain, Dobson's endorsement doesn't phase me a bit.

i do think McCain would be wise to reject it just as he did Hagee's.

Dobson isn't being arrogant, but he is genuinely concerned for the future of this country and its children and the family. Whether one likes him or not, and he may not have any sway with liberals, but what he says does matter to 100 million evangelicals.

  • You mean the same James Dobson who claimed Spongebob Squarepants was gay?

Yeah, not exactly who I go to for a logical, well-formed opinion.

Yes. But James Dobson's inclusion in the Human Race is disturbing by itself.

No, I love it. People are so thoroughly fed up with the Religious Right, his involvement will cost McCain the election.
