I've got a 1999 Honda Nighthawk and it's got a very slight oil leak around the front left valve cover.

Is there anything to worry about? It's only a couple of drips especially in the hot weather. Is there a product I can use to stop the leak?

I would just change the valve cover gasket. Adding anything (mechanic in a can ) to the oil can be risky. The oil for the engine is used in the transmission and your clutch is in te same oil. You are probably thinking about adding something to thicken the oil so it doesn't leak. The oil would then work its way to clog up around the piston rings and piston. And lubrication would also be less, I think.

Replace the gasket - it's simple.

It's rubber, so no need to scrape the old gasket off.

Remove the fuel tank, remove 8 bolts, remove valve cover.
