A better value for your earned money. Understand this people losing there houses and theres alot of them, millions, hurts the economy in many ways. biting the bullet now will help us all in the long run with housing values and the cost of living. And your comment about being responsible is uncalled for alot of these people have lost there jobs and would like nothing better than to be able to pay there mortgages. Some people do deserve to lose there houses but not all are irresponsible.

The same bill increases the ceiling for the national deficit by 800 billion to 10,5 billion.

The bill is just a debt increase in a sweet wrap to pay for GWB wars.

We and congress(our reps) are as stupid, as stupid gets.

"What do you get out of this???" Geez, fella, you should have asked that question when Bush lied you into a quagmire.

You get to live in a country that now has a hope of avoiding another journey into a Great Depression.

And that means you might get to keep your job, instead of watching it evaporate as the economy tanks and people stop buying your products or services.

And it means the value of your 401K plan could see positive territory in the next 5 years.

And it means fewer abandoned homes in your neighborhood attracting all sorts of undesirable neighbors who covet your possessions (and your copper plumbing).
