Need a MAC expert.---iMac G4. I can hear boot up chime but no screen.?
When I turn on my iMac I hear the boot up chime but can't see anything on the screen. I tried resetting the parameter RAM but either the keyboard isn't working or it just doesn't respond. When I hit the "caps" button the light doesn't come on tried switching outlets but to no avail. This happened after the kids watched a DVD so the DVD is still stuck in there. wtf?

The problem you have is a nuts and bolts issue, not a software issue.
The iMac G4 is about 5 years old, so the logic board battery may be near the end of its life. Replace it by following the steps in the link below. That is a common cause for no video and typically would have been preceded by a week or more of messages at startup about the date and time not being correct. How to get to the battery depends on the model of iMac. If that doesn't get it going, connect an Apple keyboard, restart and hold command -option -P -R for several seconds until you see a flash of light on the screen or hear a couple of startup chimes. Then release the keys. If you can't get it to reset NV-RAM, disconnect everything from the iMac except the Apple keyboard and mouse. Try to reset NV-RAM. If that doesn't work, restart and hold command -option -O (letter, not number zero) -F. If you get video,
