Does a soldier in a real firefight bunnyhop to avoid the bullets coming towards him?
A friend of mine says that soldiers in a firefight will bunnyhop and do whatever it takes in order to avoid the bullets being fired at him. I say that soldier wouldn't, and with all the kit they are wearing, they might not be able to.
Please bear in mind, that we only play first person shooters, and have no real experience of guns.

A soldier in a real firefight will disappear up their own bottom to avoid being shot. I don't exactly see the defensive strategy of bunny hops, but dying is only one outcome. Arms and legs don't grow back, so your friend is right, a soldier will do whatever it takes to keep them attached.

I think you have watched The Matrix too many times. I was in Afghanistan last year and had many firefights with the Taleban. When the bullets are coming in you get as low as you can and behind whatever cover is available. If you do need to run, you make sure that there is covering fire ( your mates firing at the enemy to keep their heads down) then you run as fast as you can whilst zig-zagging.

No. You duck and use cover. In a real firefight you don't respawn, and an AK-47 at 500 yards on a windy day is basically throwing a bunch of bullets in your general direction, so hopping wouldn't do you any good anyway.
GOW doesn't have the hopping thing for a reason, because it's totally unrealistic. It's probably the one single dumbest thing about Halo.

Decode this lyrics " The real thing"
In movies only.
In real life?
Don't think so..
As moving targets.
Against what is faster than sound..
Remember what is movie and what is real.
In movie the actor get back to work at the same time and at the same place.
In the real world the bunny hopper .
Will never get to see the light the next day.
So we don't want mum to know the bunny could no longer hop around in time.

If you really need to move when under fire, you zig zag as you run, making you a harder target. But when your under fire you instantly hit the ground. You body does this even before you think about it. It becomes second nature.

No, we don't bunny-hop, your friend is outright stupid. We give suppressing fire.
About the most realistic game I can think of would be Full Spectrum Warrior. Try that. Or just join the Army and find out what it's really like.

No. You do not bunny hop like in video games. That would just be saying "here I am, shoot me!" If you are in close quarters (which is when you bunny hop in video games) you shoot the guy.

Of course they do & hide under cottonwool balls because who wants to shoot a cute bunny...
And they eat carrots to see at night, so no need for night vision gogles

Never heard of that, bunny hopping to me is a form of line dancing done in elementary school.
