  • What is the difference between doctrine and belief?

I was reading a review of a film online that contrasted Christianity with Chinese ancestral worship. One was described as doctrine, the other a belief. I searched for both words on Dictionary.com and they came up as synonymous.

I am not looking for information regarding Christianity or Chinese ancestral worship specifically (using specific examples which illustrate a point is OK), just how these two synonymous words can be given apparently different meanings.

  • Does a soldier in a real firefight bunnyhop to avoid the bullets coming towards him?

A friend of mine says that soldiers in a firefight will bunnyhop and do whatever it takes in order to avoid the bullets being fired at him. I say that soldier wouldn't, and with all the kit they are wearing, they might not be able to.

Please bear in mind, that we only play first person shooters, and have no real experience of guns.

  • In war, are the rules followed?

This is a question primarily for serving members of the military. I have a friend who doesn't believe that the rules of engagement and other similar rules are actually followed by the armed forces involved. I believe that they are, at least by organised military forces. Could someone set us straight on this please?
