Kenmore Refrigerator, with top mount freezer?

The Freezer works fine but the refrigerator is not. No where cool enough. What do I need to check?

I know the fan needs to be working but it seems to me it is as the freezer is working fine. Is there a second fan, I know the basics of refrigeration, but need some help with this specific model.

Update:

It does have a fan in the freezer unit. Is it possible the circulation vents are frozen. We had a little problem with that and thought we had it thawed. Perhaps not. And the freezer doesn't have much in it so it is not blocked.

Depending upon the model and age of the unit, it may have two circulation fans. It it only has one, it is located in the freezer unit and circulation puts it in the refrigerator side. Check to see if the control is operating the pass-through correctly. Also check the control settings (colder/warmer): they should be set approximately the same range. Make sure the items in the freezer side are not packed tightly as this will prevent circulation of the cold air.

I would double check to make sure ice hasn't formed inside of the cooling vent; I've seen this happen on my old kenmore when the tempature setting is hire in the freezer than in the refrigerators.

If your frig is self defrost which I'm sure it is,in the back of your freezer is the condenser which has the freon going through it,there is also a heater that defrosts this part like every 12 hours or so.A tray catches the water and a hose runs the water down to a pan usually on the bottom of your frig.If that drain is blocked you will get water leaking in that area.Hope you can understand this and figure out how to check it out and check that hose.Good luck to you.
