R&P What are your some of your favorite country songs?

Dr. Sarcastic asked the same question about rap songs a few days ago, so I thought I would give this a try. Anyway, does anyone here have any favorite country songs? Here is my favorite country song right now.

Note, that I don't listen to alot of today's country music considering that country music today has turned into a pop style of music.

Anyway, if you don't have any favorite country songs, then what is your favorite song in general?

Anything by Johnny Cash. Some of my favorites by him are The Man Comes Around, Mercy Seat, Jackson, Long Black Veil, Sea of Heartbreak, One, etc. Oh and also The Jayhawks are good and Bonnie 'Prince' Billy but I think he's more folk.

I'm a HUGE country fan...Waylon Jennings being my favorite (my screen name is a song of his). Here's a few of my favorites...

Waylon Jennings: This Time, Drinkin' and Dreaming, I've Always Been Crazy, Time Between Bottles Of Wine, Slow Rollin' Low, Low Down Freedom, Cloudy Days, Ride Me Down Easy...ah, pretty much everything from him.

Merle Haggard: Mama Tried, Kern River, Footlights, Are The Good Times Really Over, I'm A Lonesome Fugitive, etc...

Johnny Cash: Wayfaring Stranger, I Hung My Head, Don't Take Your Guns To Town, The Kneeling Drunkard's Plea, The Night Hank Williams Came To Town, Cocaine Blues, One Piece At A Time and, of course, Man in Black!

Hank Williams: Lost Highway, Lost On The River, Be Careful Of Stones that You Throw, Your Cheatin' Heart, Honky Tonkin', I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry...

George Jones: I Heard You Crying in Your Sleep, The King Is Gone (So Are You), Radio Lover, Tender Years, A Picture Of Me (Without You), Still Doin' Time, Tennessee Whiskey, The Window Up Above, Wine Colored Roses...

....and a bunch more. David Allan Coe, Emmylou Harris, Kris Kristofferson, The Highwaymen, Gram Parsons, Loretta Lynn...all fabulous!

I really can't say I have a favorite country song. I tend to stay away from that genre.

Favorite current favorite song in general would probably be 10,000 days by Tool- I just realized what the whole song was about...
