I have just two things to say....

YAY NASCAR!!!

WAHHH, Toyota Fans!!!

Here is a concept that some of you need to desperately try to grasp - OF COURSE there is going to be a bigger deal made if Toyota is dominating. They are still a FOREIGN manufacturer, I don't care if a few of their vehicles are ASSEMBLED (NOT made) in the USA. The MAJORITY of NASCAR fans (read core demographic) are blue-collar, hard working Americans from the south. Sorry, it's true, and yes, I am aware that NASCAR's fan base is widening and reaching outside of the south nowadays. As such, these people are not ready to watch a JAPANESE company come in and destroy their once All-American sport.

Another point to remember here - the Toyota engines ARE built to different specs than the Chevy, Ford, and Dodge motors. They have a larger bore size (piston) than the American motors. THAT is what NASCAR is trying to even out here. The Toyota motors (actually ALL motors running a certain bore size and above) are being forced to run a different tapered carb spacer (restrictor plate) because of the way that the engines are made. If GM is allowed to switch from the current SB2 motor used in the Nationwide Series to the new RO-7 motor like what is used in Cup competition, they would also have to use this same plate as Toyota because of the way the RO-7 motor is made.

The bulletin technically amended the NASCAR Nationwide Series Rule Book section 20A - 5.10.4 effective July 23, 2008. The new language reads, "At all Events, unless otherwise specified, all engines with a cylinder bore spacing less than 4.470 inches must compete using a tapered spacer with four (4) 1.125-inch diameter holes.

"At all Events, unless otherwise specified, all engines with a cylinder bore spacing of 4.470 inches or more (the Toyotas) must compete using a tapered spacer with four (4) 1.100-inch diameter holes. Unless otherwise authorized, the carburetor restrictor will be issued by NASCAR."

I personally don't know if those claims are true but here are my 2 points worth... They should actually REVISE the sejarah subject to make it more interesting so that the younger generations could appreciate the country's history rather than dropping it as a compulsory subject. After all, there's internet technology these days and information is just a click away, so there shouldn't be any fuss about having the subject as a compulsory study in schools. Again, its the style of teaching! Do take note that there are a LOT of inaccuracies and biasedness in their Malaysian History due to political issues in the past (and you should KNOW about this as a student and future leader of the country, young man)... As for driver's license... I think they should raise it to 21, if its possible. Sorry and sad to say, unless Malaysians could be more civic-minded, I'm afraid I'll have to agree with the change of minimal age preliminary requirement for a driver's license... or perhaps, they could allow juvenile drivers with an adult of at least 5 years of driving experience beside them as practiced in certain countries? *** With 'kak' Shiori, I would like to praise you for your level of English too. "I kind of have to agree with you Larry on that situation. Again, NASCAR has gotten where they are so strict to what you can do to the engines. Toyota has worked hard to stay in the parameters and now they are being penalized for it" Jeff Hammond.

The Nationwide series was where the "penalties" took place. Sorry if your driving is unable to keep up with the Toyota's that out-worked the other brands. I have to wonder if it was Chevy in this situation if everyone would have complained as loudly.

Yeah they decided to force the Toyotas to detune their engines, using a smaller carb spacer. What I don't get is why not let Toyota keep their hard earned horsepower, and let the other teams run the updated motors that they have been trying to get approved for the whole season? Being a die hard Chevy fan, my guess is that testing on the new GM and Ford motors prove that they are way ahead of the curve as well. Possibly better than what Toyota has come up with.

Yes! but only in the Nation Wide series...

which is dumb because Toyota built a good engine with in the rules. They worked hard and put a lot if man hours and a lot hours of testing to build a good engine....................and they got ripped off for it...............

Even Larry Mac. and Jeff Hammond though that it was unfair to punish Toyota for there hard work

I mean Chevy and Hendrick kicked butt all year of last year and NASCAR didn't do a thing about.

I am pretty sure it is only in the Nationwide Series that it is being done to the Toyotas.

im sorry if u heard me say this bfor but i dont think they should have different manufactures the cars should be the exact same the only things they can chage is stuff they can do at a track after inspections so only the srivers skill is put into play

Yes it is true and I am also very greatful that they are taking away the horsepower the papers said that david reutiman had the biggest advantage and kyle busch had the second highest amount of horsepower

Yes they are the dyno tests don't lie and they put Toyota about 20 hp stronger than chevy and ford.What confuses me is that dodge was only several hp lower thay toyota and they were not forced to tune down their engines. Conspiracy?? IDK don't get me wrong i'm a chevy fan but something smells fishy here. Maybe dodge is complaining about not aerodynmic advantages again??
