31 weeks painful contractions.?

Just after your opinion. I had two contractions about 15 to 20 mins apart which were both rather painful. I have been through labour before and understand that real labour pains are much worse then this but on a scale of one to ten i would put it at about 4 or 5. 1 being no pain 10 being worse pain ever. It felt like alot of pressure below my stomach and in my lower back and bottom as well as the pain. I have since had another two contractions about 10 - 12 mins apart but felt normal. Im only 31 weeks so just a tad worried. My previous baby was born just under a year ago im 22 years old and have had no other complications. am i simply just worrying too much? what could have happened?

My guess is that they were just really painful Braxton Hicks. I am 26 years old and pregnant with baby #3 (37 weeks 4 days!) I remember having the braxton hicks contractions with my first child but honestly they get worse (for me anyway) with each kid. I have been having BH for months now and sometimes they are almost as painful as the real ones. I would just keep timing them. If they get any closer or stronger then I would become concerned and call your Dr. In the mean time, relax, lay down, put your feet up and push the water. Drink until you think you will explode! I've heard that when women go into pre-term labor that they pump them full of fluid and that normally works-they are then sent home if the contractions subside. Good luck!

They are likely just false contractions, but at 31 weeks, I wouldn't recommend risking it too much further. If they are false contractions, then drinking lots of water and changing your position and staying off your feet will likely go away. If they continue on after doing that and go much longer, then I would say to go to the hospital as they need to assess what is going on. But hopefully, and typically, they are just false contractions that are prepping your body and they should stop soon.
