yes all he has to do is tell the drill sergeant that he doesn't want him in the army. statistically 20% or more will fail out. If he quits now he wont be alone there are probely a few who have quit already. if he quits he will get a Uncharcterized discharge which will be like you never were in the military. They wont try to keep him in because it would be a waste of tax dollars to train someone who says they want to quit. It will only take about 2 weeks for them to have him discharged and they'll pay for the plane or bus ticket home.

Depends how old he is, after his basic if he is 18+ he can apply in writing to leave the army eithin 3 Months, if he is under 18 within 6 Months . . . read this . . .

    'Discharge options

Once you enlist you have to serve 28 days in training. After the 28th day you can apply in writing to leave the Army. If you're under 18 when you enlist, you have six months to let the Army know your decision and three months if over 18. Once this time has passed you are committed to serve your contract.'

Tell him though it might be home sickness, tell him to wait and see if he likes it, can't really tell after 4 days! At least wait a Month! I loved it after 2-3 Weeks!

Yes he can get out, it is a long and difficult process. You should be the supportive parent and instead of helping him find a way out tell him that he signed papers stating he was joining for several years not days and it was not a decision to be taken lightly, but he is there now. And allowing him to quit is not an option. He needs to stick it out, he will survive and be better because of it.

confident, you gets a commission. in case you come back in now as an E-a million you gets a commission $1239.ninety a month as your base pay till you hit 4 months, that will advance your pay to $1340.forty till you get promoted. in case you come back in as a E-2 or greater you will gets a commission the comparable as all and sundry else interior the army with that rank who has below 2 years time in provider. you will additionally get hassle-unfastened Allowance for Housing on your place of birth while you're married or have dependents with custody (in case you have not got custody you only get partial fee it incredibly is the type between unmarried BAH and married BAH, many times around $2 hundred a month) and your dependents would be eligible for Tricare, get right of entry to to the PX, Commissary, and MWR centers, and rather much all different protection tension reward obtainable on the closest base to the place they stay at. you do no longer might desire to pay on your uniforms or equipment except you unfastened them once you have them issued and might desire to get it replaced. only officers might desire to pay for his or her uniforms yet their equipment they use to bypass to conflict with (physique armor, helmet, etc...) are issued for unfastened and might desire to be back in the previous they get out the protection tension or paid for if lost.

Only a physical injury or mental infirmness. Tell him to suck it up and deal. We all do things we don't like to every day and this is just a part of maturing.

suck it up, he will regret his choice so bad that when he gets back home he will not have no pride and a sense of failure will follow him for atleast a year and when he try to reenlist will be a long wait and tons of paperwork to get back. tell him is 9 weeks of hell and a lifetime of greatness, pride and good jobs.

Source(s): exseaman perez separation code 311 , got to navy basic training and home sickness made me a tears river. 21 days on a separation unit. got home feel like dying, have a crappy job working for an airline. and ready to reenlist(in the national guard) and finish what i started on july 19,2007.

He is an adult and has made an adult choice.

You always be his mom, but for the next few years, he belongs to the Army....

only if you get injured like shot in the foot with a gun or seriously hurt yourself when you have to crawl under electric barb wire

If it's the same as when I applied, he's got a good 6 months.

Everyone gets that, which is why they don't let people leave untill they've gotten used to it.

    poor guy
