OLD CEMETERY DESTRUCTION: Why do some people do such horrible things? What is their motivation?
There have been many old cemeteries (burials ending before 1900s) where people have gone & broken stones, graffitied, etc. I am just curious as to why?

Vandalism is unfortunately a fact of life.
Boredom and lack of facilities do not help.
If you were brought up to visit the graves of relatives you have more respect for them.
The history doesn't matter to people now.
What however annoys me more is authorised vandalism.
Councils who afraid of legal action conduct "wobble" tests on stones to see if they are moving, if they are they order them to be laid down or removed.
The reuse of graves without searching for the families of those buried to save space.
The building over of church yards when they are disused.

They did it at my mothers cemetery too. They stole the flowers I put, more than once too. They knocked down the stones.
They said they were kids who were "bored". They have to do community service now.
Kids know right from wrong and they chose the wrong path. I wonder what their home lives are about. They could have been in a great home life, but hang out with the wrong crowd. I pray that people will have the strength to go against peer pressure when they KNOW it is the wrong thing to do.

Young boys with too much time on their hands.
Personally I think such lads could be put to good use as litter cleaners on the side of the road.
