What have you done to better the world lately?

I went to Iraq and didn't shoot a dang diddly thing. Handed out candy, patched up some blown up Iraqis, trained their police, supported their economy with my money and got blown up for all of my trouble.

Today I earned one karma point.

At motel front desk, a guest was asking if anyone knew if there was a telephone store around here. I am a guest also and did not know. I asked why. The guest had a cigar lighter phone charger but not one to plug into a wall. Intuition prompted me to ask about his phone. Investigation revealed that my charger would work on his phone.

So I loaned a stranger my charger. An hour later he brought it back. A small good deed for the day.

As for the major issues you listed, I did not commit any of those today and having a job keeps me off the poverty roles, so I did my share of not making the world a worse place.

I donate old clothes to Good Will. I teach my daughter manners. She's autistic, but I tell her if you can be nice, you'll get farther than being mean. I've learned to live slower to make life easier for her. No need to rush, she's just a child.

I helped a friend with something difficult for them and easy for me.

I pray.

Prayer.

Change my understanding of our inter-relationship. All wrongs are mine or hurt me directly and all joys or peace effect me directly. There is no outside of me.

I made some very bad people, very, very angry, thus giving them a taste of what misery feels like.

I have been kind and fair in my dealings with those who have crossed my path; that is the best any of us can do.

I made someone happy. Who will make someone else happy, who mill make someone else happy, and so on.

Well, I haven't killed, raped, or robbed anyone. What do you want from me? I'm not a superhero.
