Should I install Windows XP Professional sp2 again?

I have Windows Vista, and my computer already came with Windows Vista Home Premium, and I wanted to know if I should install Windows XP, because I bought a Windows XP disk and wanted to know if I should delete Windows Vista and install Windows XP. I know how to do everything like delete Windows Vista because I have already done this. I have already installed Windows XP before, but it was with my friend's Windows XP disk now I have my own, but when I installed Windows XP, I didn't get any sound at all, and I also didn't get any Internet, so I went back to Windows Vista and I got sound and Internet. So my question is, do you think I should try to install Windows XP Professional sp2 again and see if I get sound and Internet or should I stay with Windows Vista Home Premium?

The only reason you had no sound or internet was because XP SP2 didn't have the correct drivers for those devices pre-installed. Vista is newer so it has a larger, and more recent, collection of common drivers. I would do a search, on the manufacturer's website, for those drivers prior to doing the reinstall of XP Pro and then save them onto a removable storage media (flash, CD, floppy, whatever) and then install them after you've finished the installation of windows. You may even be able to call the devices up in Device Manager in Vista and simply note the driver information (provider (aka Manufacturer) and version number and try and get the same from their website.

    Hope that helps.

The reason you didn't get the sound and Internet with your attempted XP installation is that XP doesn't come with drivers for those devices on your system. You would have to find them on the manufacturers' web sites first. Vista obviously has the correct driver definitions on the DVD.

I don't really understand why you want to uninstall one and go with the other with the possible exception of peer pressure. Vista is obviously working for you and it runs stably. I wouldn't change it if there's no compelling reason to.

To get sound and Internet you must load drivers for your model laptop and XP. I would suggest staying with Vista Because it is the way of the future !!

well, without drivers you won't get sound. if you didn't look for drivers (on the internet) for windows XP, give it another try. if you did and didn't find, just keep vista.... not all drivers work on XP

properly you won't be able to place an older OS software right into a device devoid of the license plate NO rather if it has a sparkling OS already there, conflicts, issues extra advantageous will accrue undergo in innovations this you could bypass forward including new stuff to xp yet you won't be able to bypass backwards with the aid of putting previous stuff in xp., answer to you question first you will possibly might desire to uninstall the extra present day OS in the previous you extra the older OS,yet why might you attempt to try this besides, extra present day is larger, and you desire allot of workstation wisdom to end this activity, you human beings communicate like those are only a toy,its no longer its a complicated device, especially made for business enterprise,so carry on with the extra present day OS and return the only to procure,???
