Where can I see fluctuations of the US Stock Market by President?
I wanted to know if the Stock Market rose or fell during each Presidential Term. Is there an on-line chart or table with this information?

Good question (very relevant to our current market and political situation).

Well, it wouldn't be that hard to do it yursef.
OK, look for this trend: You need to track two things...
1) the NYSE "Most Active" over time
2) Value of the dollar in relation to foreign currency
3) Of course you can track the Presidential administrations along with the other two.
You need to do this because when your dollar is decreasing in value, the market goes up artificially. Which means, it goes up in response to a declining value of the dollar in relation to the value of foreign currency, and NOT because there is REAL value being added to the US MARKET.
It's not the same as inflation exactly, but it causes even more damage when out of control. When you factor out this artificial increase in the market, you could possibly find that the market improves "real value" much more under Democrats. That's because they like to put more people to work in high paying jobs which is what causes REAL value to our economy. These service jobs are killing our country, as we have known it.
(The US NYSE seems to represent world economy nowadays and not the real value of just the US market; most of our companies are foreign or base themselves in off shore economies so the entire analysis may be mis-guided...again, do your research and prove me wrong or right - but don't mix up the topic with this little item; it is just to show you the entire answer could be a bit skewed due to the change in the nature of the stock market.... so many variables, so little time. But PLEASE use at least two or three variables for your writing and knock 'em down).
Source(s): I tell you these things because you won't find a history book that will tell you these sad facts of life. Don't take MY word for it. DO YOUR RESEARCH and tell your teacher whether this theory is correct OR NOT. See ya. I wish I had had YA when I was in school. But I truly don't think I am doing your homework for you. I hope I help you have something to work on. - dnldslkLv 71 decade ago
On average, the market performs about the same whether a Democrat or Republican is in office. This subject has been extensively studied, and statistically it's a dead heat. The Democrats even have a slight edge but it isn't significant.

I don't think there is any easy answer to this question. Try big charts (free) or try the finra or sec websites. You could always break out a history book and google each president.

In Yahoo finance you can select historical stock prices by date ranges. If you have Excel you can chart it.
