If they specifically ask you for requirement in the job ad, you need to give them a salary range. If you write "open" or "flexible", you are taking the chance that they will toss your resume. I have actually seen ads that say if you do not provide a number, you will not be considered.

Give them a range of what you are willing to accept, keeping in mind what is fair to you and is a current rate for the position.

I always put my salary requirement in the last paragraph of my cover letter, in the last sentence.

Sometimes, they request in the resume that you put a salary requirement. I don't really agree with that. I would prefer to put it in a cover letter. That way, rather than throwing out a number with a standard list of achievements, you can use the letter format to expand upon why you think you should earn that amount, or can give examples of the work you've done that would merit that level of pay.

Plus, you should be submitting a cover letter anyway- it personifies your accomplishments and lets the recruiter/interviewer know who you are, and not just what you've done.

    Best of luck!

Are you talking about the spot on the application that says "salary expected?" If so, I've always put the word "open" in that blank. If you put a number, and it's too high, they might not want to hire you. If you put a number that's too low, then you've limited yourself and they may have been willing to give you more.

Leaving it as "open" (but not blank) gives you and the prospective employer room for discussion.

in the event that they made you an furnish then they of course think of you're qualified. infrequently do you get the possibility to teach your self incorrect, and function that be a great component. Worst which could take place? you're overwhelmed and searching for a job with much less responsiblity in 6 months.
