iPod - Touch or classic?

So I'm thinking about buying a new iPod to replace my 2nd- generation (!) nano. Since I want to take advantage of the 10% discount from recycling old iPods to Apple, I plan on getting either the 8GB Touch or the 80GB Classic.

However, in the time since I first bought my old nano, I've only acquired a total of 342 songs and no movies/podcasts (1.49GB total) - I could hold more than enough songs on either iPod. I'm also attracted to the extra features of the Touch like Safari, iTunes Store, etc. since I'm usually going through my mail and stuff like that online.

However, the Classic costs $50 less than the Touch (before 10% discount) without the features from the Touch that appeal to me. What do you think is a better investment for me?

Update:

Price isn't a deciding factor for this - sold my old saxophone mouthpiece for a good hunk of $$.

Well, since you said yourself that you use the interent alot, and the features of the ipod touch appeal to you, I would say get the touch. If you get the touch, you would use it more then the classic. I mean, all you can do on a classic is listen to music. It would be better, in my opinion to pay just a little bit more for something that is more useful in your life.

Also, you only have 1.5GB of music. I'm guessing that you aren't really that into music, so 80GB would be a waste of space, you probably would never fill it. You would be paying for all that space and you could just have easily gotten a smaller one.

Also, the ipod touch is a lot slimmer then the classic, so it may be more comfortable to carry in your pocket. And if you ever do want to put a video on your ipod, the touch has better video quality (if you have it formatted to the touch, otherwise it's really bad because it's stretched to fit the widescreen).

I think it would be a better investment to pay more for the ipod that you would use more.

    Hope I helped :)

P.S. if you get an ipod touch, don't jailbreak it. You can have a lot of problems if it isn't done properly. And Apple won't fix it under warranty, because you were stealing from them and you tampered with it :)

    basically its Looks vs. Storage

classic is good if your going to pput alot of videos and movies, but touch is great if you want extra features like internet and youtube and app store.

the classic is good if you need alot of space.

but the ipod touch is great and has alot of great features and you still have alot of space on 8GB.
