How many Jews believe that God created everything in seven days?

Because I would honestly take a Jew's understanding of the Hebrew Scriptures over a Christian's (it is your book after all).

Update:

Yea, honestly, the main reason why I don't like the strict creationism perspective (other than the fact that it doesn't hold against facts) is that it implies that God STOPPED creating at a certain point. Which doesn't seem right to me.

I don't, but I do know of some Hasidic sects which do. I've noticed that quite a lot of us (Jews) appear to prefer the scientific explanation over the religious, as it's believed by many that generally, it fits in with the Torah and doesn't really contradict it.

I guess there are some who would argue it was created in seven days, though, but I've never talked to anyone Jewish who's said they believe in the entire seven days thing before.

I'm Jewish, and I've never met a Jew that has stated an opinion quite that utterly ridiculous.

    We prize education.

The story of Creation is entirely poetic. It has moral value. It did not literally happen.

    Peace.

I believe that the majority of Jews believe literally in the six 24 hour days of creation.

    Very very few, if any.

I have yet to meet or even hear of a single rabbi that takes the entire story of Genesis to be literally true.

(And its 6 days, not 7).

If anyone knows of an ordained rabbi that does believe the Universe was literally created in 6 days, please name him (or her).
