Can you help me write a speech?
It's my Dad's 50th and my stepmother asked me to write a speech. This may sound harsh, but I don't have anything nice to say about my father, don't even know why I'm stressing over this stupid speech, but here I am. I just need some ideas!!
What he did for me when I was younger....abandoned me, left me with an abusive mother so he could go start a new life and family! Father of the year. He likes to play the hero in front of everyone but really he is just a selfish man. He is even a lousy grandfather. He gives his grandchildren expired food and second hand magazines for their birthdays! It's not like he doesn't have money, coz he does!!!!
Kinda do always do what she says...she's scary!!! LOL!

In life one is so involved in your own life with everything going on around one self. It is hard to think of those people around and how much they do help through your life. The sad part is you don't fully realize this until they are gone. The best answer from the perspective is what did you dad do in your younger years to make you who you are today? Did he teach you how to ride a bike? put a worm on the hook? Halloween? Its what you learn when you are young which makes you who you are today. Quote me if you like.

I would try to focus on a particular memory you have of you and him through the years- there had to be one time- flip through some old photos for inspiration- maybe you could even frame it and give it to him as a birthday gift- talk about how special that time was and how happy you are to be sharing this special day with him

Do you always do what your stepmother tells you? Make it short and sweet, wish him a happy birthday and hope he enjoys his day. Like you said don't sweat over it and don't be phony, be yourself but respect the fact he is your dad and made it to 50 after all!

you could say how:
he's "been there" for you
even when you were young...
through thick and thin...
then say a funny story about when you were little or something. Then everyone will laugh and then you'll say well thanks dad. l0l.
hope i was able to helpp. =]
