Gosh, I'm sorry! What a horrible situation. I'm afraid what you are describing sound very bad. Sepsis and multiple system organ failure "probably" means she has a massive over-powering infection that has affected her major organs... including the brain... to the effect that they cannot function (or at least not function well enough to support life for long). I mentioned the brain based on your statement that they have her in an induced coma. That is usually done to put the brain at rest... at least as much as possible since the brain ALWAYS has to work. This is done in the hopes of helping it heal. This is not a good scenario...

As to what you can do, I would suggest that you find out if there is a patient advocacy program at that hospital. Explain the situation... about the husband being abusive and possibly not having his wife's best interest in making decisions for her. The patient advocate might be able to help or at least suggest a lawyer. You could ask the courts to appoint someone to intermediate on her behalf. The problem is that all this takes time and I don't know how much time your daughter has based on your description of the situation. But sometimes when it is life-and-death, the courts can move fast.

Edit: I just had an after-thought. When you talk to the patient advocate, you could request a patient care conference and ask to be present. If it is denied and you have gotten the names of a lawyer and/or know how to request a court appointed advocate for your daughter, TELL the husband what you plan to do IF he doesn't allow you to see her and find out more about what is going on. It is possible (not guaranteeing it here) that he might back down in order to avoid the hassle.

Sepsis is an infection that has gone to the blood and is throughout the whole body. Multisystem organ failure means that many organs, like the kidneys, liver, lungs, etc., are not working properly or are shutting down. Yes, it is very serious.

I don't have any advice regarding getting information from the hospital if the husband is the health proxy.
