Is Ebay actually a trustworthy site to use?

The question is pretty straight forward.

Depends on the seller. Always check their feedback.

Some people have over 20,000 as a feedback score so instead of having to scroll through all the positives to find the negatives use this site.

    http://www.toolhaus.org/

It'll only show you the negatives and neutrals left for that buyer.

And how the seller responded, if they did at all.

Just type their username into the search bar and hit enter.

    Source(s): Ebay power seller.

Yes it is. It's backed by the Better Business Bureau and uses security measures like VeriSign to ensure that you are the owner of the credit card you're using to try and purchase something. It also uses a rating system and customer feedback to tell you if the seller you want to buy from is trustworthy and reliable. If they have too many negative feedback comments and a lower rating than I like to see, I just don't buy from them and find the product I want from a different seller. The vast majority of sellers on ebay are reliable, though, b/c it only hurts themselves if they don't follow thru with shipments and stuff like that. They lose customers if they're not reliable or honest! Ebay also uses PayPal, which is a very safe and reliable payment method that requires a buyer/seller to go thru multiple security checkpoints to prevent identity theft, etc. I've bought a number of products off of ebay that I couldn't find anywhere else (like a car part) or that were a whole lot cheaper there than new in a store (like books). I really like it alot. And, it's fun to bid on something you really want (and have the money to spend on)! Sometimes you make a bid and lose, sometimes you win! But remember that if you make the winning bid on an auction, you are agreeing to go ahead and buy it, and pay for it. They tell you that on the site, though, before you make a bid. I think you'll like it. Have fun! :)

I used to use ebay alot and most of the sellers are great but ebay itself are hypocrites and backwards morons. They make some of the most ridiculous decisions known to man with the "dispute". I hope you never have to find out what I mean. But anyone who has used their stooge company paypal might know what I mean.

And then if your a seller, they have the nerve to charge you 3 different fees for the same sale of the item.

Listing Fees, Sale fees and also Paypal fees. They're a joke to anyone who has tried to earn a few honest bucks.

I can honestly say I will NEVER EVER try to sell anything again on ebay. They are their own worst enemy.

ok, you asked. the actuality is, is that no online commerce internet site is a hundred% trustable. That reported, the eBay internet site as an eCommerce internet site in itself is somewhat trustable IMHO as I even have procuring and advertising effectively for 6 years now. What won't be as preserve as eBay are the thousands and thousands of tradespeople & shoppers/sellers who populate the positioning. You in no way comprehend who you're handling. subsequently eBay set up the comments software and why it is so important which you pay interest to somebody's comments whilst procuring or advertising. popularity = believe on eBay. you're in charge for insuring which you commerce securely on eBay. Do your homework. examine comments comments as properly as numbers. Use PayPal or BidPay for transactions for the reason which you have purchaser/vendor protection plans in place. do not deliver out till the funds have cleared your monetary corporation whilst accepting assessments and funds orders. Self-insure each and every thing over $10.00. do not settle for returns for unpackaged products except YOU made an errors interior the define or sent the incorrect merchandise. eBay is the venue wherein we shoppers/sellers meet to commerce online via way of the internet. eBay provides the lady In crimson to commerce her Barbie series from somewhat fishing villiage bordering the Northeast Atlantic Ocean with a soccer mom from Rotorua, New Zealand.

It's probably one of the most "trustworthy" sites there is.

Why are you asking? You gave them some personal information and now you think they might "do" something with it?

Some SELLER'S might not be honest, but that has nothing to do with the "site" itself.

Yes, but make sure to check the sellers back round before you bid on their product. I have not had any problems so far with that site.

yes it is, just check feedback, u have to realize that when u buy something on there its a legally binding contract. use paypal when paying so if the seller trys to screw u over ebay can reverse it and suspend there account.

It is as trustworthy as the people you are buying and selling with, but it can show pretty well who has made good and bad sells and buys before.

Cutthroat but a good way to liquidate.

If you are trying to make a profit or get most of your value that you bought from your store. You are in a wrong place.
