can our store be open on election day?

ok well my family just opened a liquor store in may of '08 and they were told that they couldnt open the store on election day! let me know thanks

    It depends on the state you are in. Most states say no but some are states allow them to stay open.

    Kansas...No,you have to stay closed.

    According to this source, liquor stores must be closed on Election Day in Kansas.

    I don't know about Kansas but where I live liquor / stores are closed up until the Polls are closed on election day.

    Kansas requires you to stay closed, I believe until the polls have closed at least

    well i have a store in California and they never told us that

    they did give us a poster to put up saying "Dont forget to vote today" and listing all the places that someone can vote in our county

    schools stay open, hospital keep running, and stores stay open. ask your county about it maybe its different there

    It is not a federal holiday. my husband has been a federal employee for 28 yrs. They have never been given the day off to go vote.
