About "Make Me a Christian," British reality show...

Article on a Christian website (they think it's great):

http://www.christianpost.com/article/20080805/non-...

13 non-Christians, including an atheist, a lesbian, a Muslim, and a Witch, gave up their normal lives for three weeks and had intensive Bible study and spiritual mentoring in Christianity.

Non-Christians, would you appear on a show like this?

Christians, do you think this is a good idea?

And British users, have you seen this show, and can you tell us more about it?

I wouldn't do it (I'm bi and Pagan) because I can't bear the thought of being separated from my wife for three weeks, but if I were single I might just to test my own strength of character.

I would not be able to tolerate being a contestant on a show like this, but I think it is a great idea. I am willing to bet that it turns more people off of Christianity than it will draw towards it. I think this show will be a boon to Atheism.

The only way I am going to appear on this show is if the title gets changed to "I bet your best efforts cant make me a Christian."

And yes, I would be willing to do whatever they asked for three weeks. Including Bible study.

EDIT - wait a sec - the article says that they will give up their normal lives to "live like Christians". Since when does the average Christian take INTENSIVE Bible study courses and spiritual mentoring?? All I have to do to live my life as a Christian for three weeks is to pray and act like a judgmental hypocrite and I have completed the challenge!

If the people are really open to it then I think it would be ok, but if people just go on the show because they have something to prove or some adjenda to fulfill, then I don't think it would be a good idea. because then they will just go into the show with the mindset of "there is no way I'm going to believe this, I'll just do this to make Christianity look stupid". if they do it they should do it because they really want to know if it is real and true. And they have to be willing to ask God if it is real, instead of just relying on themselves for the answers.

Not showing yet so cannot comment. But sounds like an even bigger pile of crap than any other british reality show - and we're talking major CRAP here!

    The idea disgusts me.

    I am Christian.

Christianity is not meant to be used for entertainment.

It is not to be trivialized.

I DO NOT think it's great.

When you consider the great cost there was for God, how can ANY thinking person do something like this?

I think it is awesome to look into other possibilities or cultural beleifs. I think the bible is too sexist and discriminating against lifestyles of others, so I don't think I'd want anything to do with that, though.

"Non-Christians, would you appear on a show like this?"

Sure. Maybe someone there will finally be able to give me a good answer to some of the questions I have.

Source(s): Like how Judas died twice, and used his silver pieces twice, or how different women arrived at different times to see Jesus' tomb, the different people they saw there, etc. Or perhaps, if literalism is not their game, how God can give us an imperfect book, and then judge us on our belief in the points in that book.

I think you may be able to watch online when it airs.

I also think the concept is horrendous.

If I were in that show, I couldn't stand up with those Bible study because I already knew it! My mind is immune to it. =D

That might be interesting, I have never heard of it before. I would think if it would help those understand the bible would depend on the speaker they have.
