HELP! My mouse's ear is red and swollen...
My lil white mouse has a red and swollen ear. could it be an infection? She is over 2 years old. I put neosporin in her ear to try to help her. I hope she's not in pain. She's running in her wheel like normal.
any first aid advice would be great, or maybe some type of food that can help her?
I'm worried I know mice don't live long, but I love my mousey.
Thanks.
Shes okay!!!! The neosporin I put on her ear helped. didnt even need a vet.

It sounds as though she has an infection in the ear. Check the ear for a wound. It may be too deep for you to see it however. I suggest you take her to a vet. Redness and swelling is indicative of a localized infection, however these kinds of infections can easily spread and become systemic, in which case, your mouse could get very very ill. The vet visit will not be terribly expensive (regular office exam) and the antibiotics used for rodents (typically Baytril and Doxycycline) are also quite inexpensive.
Good luck with your mouse! She sounds sweet.

aww thats so sad. im sorry your mouse is experiencing this.
mice are so cute. i hate to see animals in discomfort.
im not a mouse expert but maybe you should try taking her to a vet, just to make sure its not something serious.
you should probably wait a couple of days to see if the swelling and redness gets better. or worse.
but i think taking her to the vet is the best option.
i really really hope your mouse will be ok.
good luck!
:)
