is John McCain correct in saying?

McCain talking about obama -

"Government is too big, he wants to grow it. Taxes are to high, he wants to raise them," McCain said. "Congress spends too much and he proposes more. We need more energy and he's against producing it. We're finally winning in Iraq, and he wants to forfeit."

Do you agree with McCain and I that these are obama's policies?

    No.

Under Bush, our government is already too BIG. Our taxes are already too high for the middle and lower classes. The GOP Congress had spent waaaay too much money and Bush has already committed us to endless debt.

There isn't enough oil to get us out of this fix and onto independency, and we haven't won a war that has left us quagmired in Iraq or anywhere else.

How can you forfeit something that never had an exit strategy in the first place?

McCain's just upset that both the US and the Iraqi government are close to agreeing to an October 2010 timetable--with our troops to have left the country by 2013.

There's no 'victory' in that for John Boy.

provide it a relax, already. Gov. Palin did no longer say that. On October 11, 2008: "while a woman at a gathering mentioned Barack Obama became an Arab, John McCain defended his Democratic rival, regardless of the indisputable fact that he did no longer maximum appropriate her."

    1. Bush was handed a surplus, but spent away so that we now are in a federal deficit. the problem is that Bush combines low taxes with high spending on the military. not a good idea, yet one that McCain will continue. seriously, you can have high taxes and high spending or low taxes and low spending, not low taxes and high spending as any 3rd grade math student will tell you. it just doesn't work and passes on debt and burdens to the next generation.

    2. Obama supports producing more wind and solar, which are clean and renewable sources of energy. McCain SAYS he supports them, but has voted against them in the senate. well, i guess we can just DRILL our way out of the problem. especially since drilling won't affect gas prices until 2030

    3. "Winning" in Iraq is not having less violence, its getting the citizens to vote in democratic elections to form a stable government. McCain was for the war from the start and just won't admit that he was wrong about it. Obama actually understands that for there to be any form of long-term stability in the region, we need the people to form their own government instead of watching over them like we are the world police.

  • I do agree!

I also wish the Republicans' record had been better at spending - they ladled out the pork also. At least McCain has a decent record on budget itssues, unlike some of his colleagues on both sides of the aisle.

The choice is pretty clear with respect to taxes, Iraq, and energy. People can either agree or disagree, but there's a coherent philosophy there. But unfortunately the Republicans didn't even meet their own standards on the budget.

Republicans are not perfect, but for me the much better choice.

Nope. But wait a few minutes and he will say something different. Did you receive your John McCain tire gauge yet? How's that foot taste John?

I totally agree with you. But having said that, I'm not so sure McCains

solutions will be much better. Once again it is a choice between two evils.

Which one is the less likely to do harm? I'm hoping it is McCain.

It looks that way and is how he votes but he says a lot of words but know substance so it is hard to see where he stands on much of anything. He is by far the most liberal Democrat and what McCain said fits his parties views. Peace

Yes, he is. He has it nailed. The Democrats have the lowest rating in congress ever, and perhaps Obama would like to mathc that, if he would become president. He knows nothing about economy, energy or the senate in just 143 days. If anyone thinks that is experience and leadership, I would like to show them a bridge I have for sale.
