Non-Christians: Would you give me your opinion of this Christian song musically?
Not proselyzing. This song is talked about on all kinds of message boards...religious or not. What do you think?
Wonder how long it will take.
Happily, are you kidding me? Do you not have the Book of Psalms in your Bible? What about Judges? Many, many times the Jews (and King David) danced and sang to the Lord. They beat tamborines.
Ummm...how long has it been since you cracked open a Bible?
Wait...how long has it been since I really read the Bible?
dh, thanks for the honest answer. :)
I don't see how this song takes away from Christ's suffering death at all, Mighty. In fact, it uplifts Him.
Mighty, you do know this song was created from Micah 7:19, right?

Well I'm Christian but I just wanted to say that I absolutely LOVE this song. What a beautiful expression of just how insanely awesome and forgiving our God really is!! I went to confession today (I'm Catholic) and I was actually thinking of this song. It's soooo amazing how God would, through His Son on the cross, take all of our sins (even the worst) and toss them to the bottom of the ocean floor just to show how so much He loves us. =)

They're cool, for the most part, but... They don't seem to be able to define their terms very well... They say stuff like..."She's gone to be with her Lord in Heaven" or "She's sitting next to Jesus now," but they can't answer questions like "Wouldn't just sitting next to Jesus get boring after awhile?" or "What age do people get to be in Heaven? 30 years old? 60 years old? And if a 3 year old dies, does he remain a childish 3 year old forever in Heaven? And why would sitting next to a shining bright light be something you would want to do? What is exactly is "The Glory of God?" and do you need sunglasses to be around him? And do Alzheimer's victims who completely lose their identity even before they die get their personality and memories back? And how did God know he would love us if we hadn't been born yet? And why did he create evil? How can you have "free will" if God knows in advance what's going to happen? "Free Will" would have to mean that we could surprise God by deciding to do something different than what he foresaw, because you can't have it both ways, so what gives with that? I can easily imagine a world where there's no death or disease and everybody's happy, and why couldn't God create a world where people "could" choose evil, but never do? If God knew Adam and Eve were going to rebel, why did he get angry? Did he create the universe and "then" saw that it was good, or did he know in advance it would be good? And how could he just be a "word" if no humans were around yet to talk? And why is Jesus coming back? I thought it was a done deal? Did he forget something? And why did God need to impregnate a virgin to have a son? Why not a daughter? or twins? And if he shines light on both the good "and" the bad, doesn't that mean he's ambivalent about the issue? And how could God be floating on the "waters of the deep" before he created oceans? And isn't an "eternity" in Hell a little harsh for crimes committed within just 1 to 100 years? And how does he test the level of a person's belief? Does he give souls a multiple choice test? Does a score of 51% get you into Heaven, or do you need a "C" grade or better? And why do Christians think that there's anything different about one person dying or all of us? I mean...we all die individual deaths for sure in the future anyway, so what's the big deal about all of us going at the same time in the near future? How come Heaven and Hell don't have an actual "location?" How can there be something "behind" reality? Wouldn't that make it part of reality, and so it would have to have an actual location? And how can somebody be a sinner already when they're born. Babies didn't do anything wrong? Why should they have to pay for their parent's mistakes? None of it makes a lick of sense when you really think about it, so why do people so easily believe in something that makes no sense upon rational scrutiny and always sounds like abstract gobble-dee-hookie?

You can call a song religious if it sings about heaven, scriptures,Saints, or The Lord.
Basically its not the kind of music I would want to hear at church. For when I am there I like the Organ played and the hymns. Rock and that even though there are some religous rock songs I wouldnt want them sung at a church.

Thats a great song alright. You should know that the Bible tells us that we need to confessour sins to God, our Lord, Creator and soon coming King (not to a nice guy in a dark robe). The Bible says when we confess our sins it is as though those sins are washed away forever. They are forgiven, as though it never happened. You should hear the Christian song titled What Sin? Originally song by Morgan Cryar in iTunes. You'll really like that one too my friend.

I do have to say.... as a Christian, I didn't like it. I don't like a lot of Christian music done in a rock or pop style, though. That's a personal preference.
I have just always felt that music meant to worship, should show the kind of reverence and esteem we hold our Lord in.
.... another way of putting it.... the entire british population wouldn't show their adulation for the queen (in a good way) by having Ozzy Osbourne bite the head off a bat in front of her.
I just think... Christ suffered and died for our sins. I choose to show my thanks in reverent ways, not in ways that make it a worldly recognition. Just a spiritual one.
I'm editing this with a thought to "Happily Happy".... it seems to me you base your answer//question on a desire to know "intellectually". Matters of the spirit cannot always be resolved on an intellectual level. I'm sure you've heard before "I don't know, I just know it's TRUE".... many people have bourne testimony of Christ, God, and many other people/things in such a manner.
I would suggest, if you want to know which of your Prophets have used song, .... PRAY ABOUT IT.
It says in the book of James.... If any of ye lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not...
Whether you believe in God or not.... whether you're sure he exists or not.... he has told us how to contact him if we need to.
I suggest you use it.

It's an utterly forgettable song that sounds like so many others. I would change the station if this popped up on the radio.

I like the beat of the music, but not the singers voice. I couldn't really focus on the lyrics because of my dislike of the voice...lol Sorry

Musically its OK. Sounds generic like Christian rock typically does but for a Christian song its very good. The lead guys voice is kinda like Rod Stewart. They also remind me of Oasis. Neither are my taste but the both did OK so I guess its pretty good.

It's a sleepy Bruce Springsteen meets U2 kind of sound. I am a Christian, though, so I guess my input doesn't count ;)

I like the meaning and the message and the theme of the song. Sounds convincing to live on and somehow motivates you to live your life to the fullest!
