Baffling keyboard fault on HP Pavilion Notebook ! dv6700 .

When I hit shift 2 when doing e-mail address I get this " then when I hit that key that does that character the inverted commas I get @ . Any one know what this might be ? The machine is under warranty but I don't want to take back to shop and lose all my programmes etc if I can help it !!!

I am not picky Zee its just that I expect the symbols that are on the keys to appear when I type them !!

    Your computer is set to the wrong keyboard layout (sounds like it's set to UK when you have a US keyboard).

    Go to the text services control panel and you can change the layout there.

    There is absolutely nothing wrong that is the way a keyboard should be laid out.

    however if you're picky about such things it is just a case of changing the keyboard layout
