Help!! My 4 year old dog tried to bite me when I put her in her cage.....
I have a chihuahua I have had since she was 3 months old and she is very docile and sweet. She has her menstrual cycle and last night I tried to put her in her cage (she never fights me on this). She tried to bite me so I slammed the cage shut before she could. Then she came up to the edge of the cage and was growling at me and was very mean. I have never seen her like this...EVER. Not even with other dogs. I just got a puppy about 4 months ago and they get along great with no issues. Why would my dog do this?? I so not trust her now and do not understand the sudden change in behavior. I had just finished loving her and petting her before bedtime and this is just terrible. I cried....my feelings were really hurt by seeing her act this way. Any suggestions????

Well first of all, you should never discipline your dog while in the cage. Your dog may have snapped because she is not feeling well, maybe your hand hit a spot on her stomach that was hurting. If she snaps again, hire a trainer. Do yourself a favor and get the dog fixed
