HDTV/Comcast Hdtv connection question
I recently bought an Hitachi HD TV without an HDMI outlet from a friend, and I called comcast to order HDTV. I have to pick up the box tomorrow. Does anyone know how I can hook this up if I don't have HDMI outlet? Is there some type of splitter I use to get it to work? And if so, does that affect the picture quality?

IT has to have either a component input or a DVI input or both since you don't have HDMI, comcast will give you the component cable, all you have to do is hook it up and hook up the audio and you are good to go...in fact they give you instructions how to hook it up as well..

1. I run composite cables out of my HD box to my Video 6 inlets and they work very well. I do have a HDMI input and I use that to run my feed from my DVD player and surrround stereo. I can't imagine the digital direct via HDMI being much better, You should have on digital input so.....
2. You need to check to see if you have a DVI input on the back of your set. this is what you probably need to match from the new cable box.

Make sure you are selecting component video input on your TV and that the settings on both your DVD player and TV are correct. I believe you have to specify on the DVD player that you want 720P output and you might have to do something similar to your TV. BTW ... I'm amazed you are using component video cables as HDMI allows you to upconvert all the way to 1080i Also, you payed way too much money if you bought monster cables. I think my component video cables cost me $10 and my HDMI cost me $20!
