Why do no Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall have windows on the external of their building?
I was just wondering this because I've seen quite a few Kingdom Halls, and none of them have windows that I have seen.

it depends on the neighborhood. because people like to threw things to break the windows. also it is cheaper to built them without windows. there are many Kingdom Halls that have windows. the Kingdom Hall that I go to has windows. we are not hiding anything. everyone is welcome to come inside. also we are not a cult. we worship Jehovah God. people call us a cult because we don't believe in the trinity. and because we don't celebrate holidays. we still have more fun. we have parties during the year. we have weddings, baby showers and get together parties. learn what Jehovah Witnesses are about at www.watchtower.org

I grew up as one of Jehovah's Witnesses...The Kingdom Hall I used to attend was up in a Mountain Community in Oakhurst California...it had a HUGE Picture Window behind the Podium where Deer and other Animals would come down and graze while services were being held...we would even watch the snow fall during winter...after a while they would pull the heavy curtain over the window when the outside became too distracting. Some Kingdom Halls DO have windows and some DON'T.

Actually, Some Kingdom Halls do have windows. Others do not have windows because of cost and for the sake of security. Generally, a Kingdom Hall is built without windows in areas which tend toward hate crimes and vandalism against houses of worship.

We invite all interested ones to attend meetings with us at our Kingdom Halls. Just contact your local Kingdom Hall for times.
From the Jehovah's Witnesses Official Web Site:
"Jehovah’s Witnesses hold meetings for worship twice each week. (Hebrews 10:24, 25) At these meetings, which are open to the public, we examine what the Bible says and how we can apply its teachings in our life.
Most of our services include audience participation, much like a classroom discussion. Meetings begin and end with song and prayer.
You don’t have to be one of Jehovah’s Witnesses to attend our meetings. We invite everyone to come along. Seats are free. No collections are ever taken."

Five years ago I visited the Assembly Hall in St. Petersburg Russia, and there was no sidewalk out front. The local Witness told us that after vandals tore it up for the THIRD time, they just did not replace it.
And the same for the windows. They replaced, but had to put gates up for some protection.
The Kingdom Hall I go to was built in 1997 and it is a double Hall with plenty of windows.
Some areas are safer, some have different climate needs.
We have an "open door policy". Please feel free to come inside, take a look, stay for the meeting, and enjoy all the smiling faces and excellent instruction.

All the KHs I've attended have windows.
Given they're not 20 feet tall with stained glass...but windows nonetheless.....
Thank you Vot! Every Kingdom Hall is open to the public, the times of our meetings are posted in front for everyone to see and take advantage of. The door is not locked...there is no secret knock and password required. lol ((Some locations due to the crime have to take more security measures than others obviously. My grandmother attends one in Michigan that has no windows, a 9 foot fence, brothers guarding the door etc. They've been vandalized repeatedly, cars stolen from the lot and so on.))
You and anyone else are welcome at the Kingdom Hall.

Because we worship in the dark so as not to distract from the teachings of the WT and be brainwashed into a dangerous cult.
Or at least that is what some think. The KH I attend as windows. But Kingdom Halls are paid for by voluntary contributions. Adding too many windows into the construction adds a lot of cost to a building project.
Most KH's do have windows. All the Kingdom Halls I have ever been to have windows. They may not have lots of windows, due to the cost, but they do have windows.

Wow this question is getting asked nearly every week now. The first Hall I attended has windows, the one I go to now does not have windows, it's newer. As has been stated over and over, it is to reduce building costs as we build our own buildings and cover the costs. Also to reduce the costs of vandalism, remember we also pay our own insurance premiums.
We are hosting another congregation right now because they are doing a total remodel on their KH. We buy the materials, but it's brothers and sisters doing all the construction.
Our Christian meetings are always open to the public so you're welcome to come and see what happens at a meeting anytime, we have 5 a week.

Seen "quite a few"? How many and where?
I've seen plenty Halls too, been in about 15 and only 2 of those did not have windows (one in England used to have windows but they were broken for the third time by vandals, the other near the North Pole in Russia to keep the warmth in and the cold out they did not put in windows.)
If there really was anything to hide in the Halls, why would our meetings be open to the public, with meeting times openly displayed?

I used to go to an older hall that had windows. And almost every month we had a window broken. After we moved away and during a remodel, they removed the windows.
So, during the later 70s and early 80s it was decided that with good air conditioning, and building costs, it was better to construct without windows.
Since we build our halls ourselves, it cuts down the extra steps and cost, since we are trying to keep our focus on the ministry than on building structures.

All the Kingdom Halls I've been in have windows. I live in a low-crime area.
While visiting friends out of state, their Hall had the windows around the entry door shot out. They told me it wasn't the first time. I guess they just have to keep fixing them. But I can understand if they replace them with wood or bricks.
