how can i get properly trimmed eyebrows?

i suffer from "i'm getting old" eyebrows: some grow really long and stick out (lovely picture, no?). whenever i try to get them trimmed at a salon, however, they just run clippers over 'em, and they get all choppy looking. is there anything i can do? could i trim them to an almost shaved length without looking like an escapee from an asylum? they drive me nuts, as is!

I used to have them plucked with tweezers are waxed but now I have them threaded which really is much better and seems to last longer.

Comb Up Then Cut. The best way to get rid of those pesky one or two stands of hair from your brow that continue to get longer than the rest is to use a small tooth comb and comb them up, directly away from your face. Then, use a very small but sharp pair of scissors to cut them at the length you would like. As there should only be one or two, this should be easy to do.

Using Tweezers. Sometimes, it can be helpful to use tweezers over the top of the eyebrow to clean them up. This can provide you with one problem, though. That is it leaves you with an empty spot in your eyebrow where the hair was. This is not necessarily the best route to take when it comes to shaping and cleaning up the eyebrow.
