where are the amish located exactly?

The Amish consist of several different groups, but assuming you are referring to Old Order Amish, they reside in 22 different states and Ontario Canada. The largest population centers are in Holmes County, OH, Lancaster County, PA, and LeGrange County, IN.

The whole state between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh is not Amish country, but Lancaster County most definitely is. Go to a maps website (take your pick - Yahoo, Google, Mapquest, it doesn't much matter). Find Gap, PA - just east of Lancaster, right around where PA 41 hits US 30. You will see PA 741. The stretch of 741 from Gap toward Lancaster is a nice place to see Amish buggies and farms and some tourist attractions like the Strasburg Railroad, a "Maize Maze," the Pennsylvania Railroad Museum and several other things. The Amish farms are easy to spot - no curtains in the windows, and often, there are pay phones by the road.

There are amish located in Minnesota. Around Detroit Lakes/Wadena area. There are more, but I don't know the areas they are located in.

My mother in law buys milk from them all of the time.
