I have a compaq presario and bought a new video card-all games work, but crash after about 10 minutes?

the computer is package model RS1300NX the video card is a Vision Tek Radeon HD2400 Pro AGP (ATI display adapter AGP(0x94c4)). Thanks for helping

Update:

If I wanted to get, say a 600 or 800 watt power supply, weather it works or not would depend on what it's drawing from?

I could not find the wattage rating of your power supply but, given the specifications for the computer, suspect it has only about a 250W supply. You should be able to see this rating when the case is open.

    .

The most likely cause of your problem is that the additional electrical current draw of your graphics card is causing the computer to become unstable. Upgrade the power supply to 400 watts and you should be fine.
