I do not attend church or watch catholic programming, but I pray at home. Is this an unforgivable sin?

No sin is unforgivable but it is important that you have acknowledged the sin.
We should not absent ourselves from the assembly, as some do, but encourage one another; and this all the more because you see that the Day draws near (Hebrews 10:25).
Christianity is not a spectator sport.
Christianity (among other things) requires that you:
• Worship your creator
• Develop your relationship with God
• Help build up the Church, the Body of Christ, the Communion of Saints, the family of believers
Regular attendance and participation in your Church's services can help you reach these goals.
You also obey the Commandment to "keep holy the Lord's day" by going to church on Sundays.
With love in Christ.

I'm not sure that we are obliged to watch Catholic programming, but I think that we should attend church. Of course God is in all our hearts, but there is an obligation to act communally (not sure if this is a word) to praise Jesus. Imagine a football game where everyone cheers by themselves at home on a television (or radio). The communal aspect brings out more than we can understand it does. Also, if it is the Catholic Church you're talking about attending, the Catholic Church holds Christ under the species of bread in the chapel (which is why you see a red candle lit). This is the very presence of the savior you pray for at home. Wouldn't it make more sense to be closer to Him physically too if possible?
Hope that helps.

I take it you're Catholic?
It is not unforgivable sin, but it is a sin. If you want to get right with the church, you need to get to confession, then start going to Mass.
Praying at home is good, too. But you'll feel better once you get to Mass.
And giving money is not a requirement.

Sweetie, we all worship God in our own way. Going to church is a way to connect with other believers and to learn more about living each day according to biblical principles.
As others have stated, there is only one unforgivable sin and that is blaspheming against the Holy Spirit.
Luke 12:10
Mark 3:29
Matthew 12: 31-32

Don't worry, you are fine. There is nothing in the scriptures that says " you will be burned if you don't go to church" all that is required is that we believe in Jesus as the son of God, he died for our sins on the cross, and rose again. If you believe that and accept Jesus as your savior being in a church won't change much except to find friends, support, and worship.
The best thing we can do is keep the church within us alive. Prayer, reading the bible, helping others.
God desires true relationship with us more than us sitting our butt in a seat.

Praying at home is a good thing. However, it is not meant to be a substitute for weekly Mass attendance. For Catholics, "Keeping the Sabbath Holy" entails weekly Mass attendance. Missing Mass for no good reason constitutes grave offense.

Don't be silly! You are considered to be a non-practicing Catholic since you don't attend mass, but you can always start practicing again at any time. It's worth going to confession since you've missed a lot of mass and a lot of high holy days, but you can confess and be forgiven.

There's only one unforgivable sin, the rejection of Christ when the Holy Spirit draws you to Him.
But we should be obedient and go to church. It still isn't unforgivable to not go when you are physically able to.
Source(s): Mr 3:28 I tell you the truth, all the sins and blasphemies of men will be forgiven them.29 But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin." Heb 10:25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near. - korbanLv 61 decade ago
It is a sin if you are Catholic!
You are called to receive the Body and Blood of God.
Forget the rest they only go to assembly, but Catholics go to mass to offer ourselves along with Jesus to the Father.
Jesus gave his Body and Blood to the Church to feed us on this Journey, so if you do not receive him you have no life.

Why? There are many of us that can't get to church or can't find one that IS obeying all of the Bible. Praying at home is fine. Read your Bible every day too. Find a way to help others too. Love everyone.
