Do you allow people to wear shoes in your house?
why not allow shoes? Well because you don't know what they may have walked through on their way round. Especially in the rain - drains back up and spill over manholes. All sorts of nasty.

Never! When my daughter was just 9 months old, a friend walked dog poop all through my house. My daughter is now 21 years old and from that day, the only person that has EVER been through my door with shoes on was a doctor who came to see my daughter when she was 5 with tonsilitis - and she told him, even in her croaky voice, that he was not allowed to have his shoes on!!!

For most American's SeaWorld has been a long time family custom, having been with us considering that the 1960s. One of the features would be the assortment of shows featuring killer whales, sea lions, dolphins, and different sea life. No one is allowed to wear shoes in my house. It is a strict rule that everyone takes their shoes off before coming into the house. It is obivious to anyone visitng that shoes are not allowed as their is a pile of shoes on the porch and a sign that says "please remove your shoes." My kids always tell their friends when they come over to make sure their shoes are off. We all walk around in socks and it keeps the house so much cleaner.

No way! I got new carpet five years ago, and it still looks nice thanks to my "no shoes allowed" rule. On Sunday, I walked around in my stocking feet all day, and the bottoms of white socks were still white at the end of the night. That shows that your floor really does stay cleaner if you take off your shoes.
Not to mention, shoes are uncomfortable. Why would you want to wear anything on your feet besides socks at home?

Yes - I do. I have doormats for people to wipe their feet on. My sister in law makes her kids take their shoes off when they come to visit and it's really annoying as I end up with a pile of trainers and shoes to tip over.

Hi yep, but most of us as soon as we get in we take our shoes off anyways lol, Its embarrasing when people ask you to take shoes off in the house as for one thing you have to expose socks and sometimes socks are not in the best condtion lol, if obviouslty someone you are with has muddy shoes etc then its common sense to take them off.lol

Yes! I hate visiting people who make me take my shoes off at the door. It's only a carpet, if you don't like it getting dirty change the colour or vacuum the sodding thing more often!!

well depends on ur flooring, if its a carpet then certainly not, if its tile, hardwood things like that easy to clean, maybe or say its something quick yeah, but usually in my house no, its good to keep your floor clean, instead of cleaning , but its ok if the people that are commuting around ur house have usually clean shoes, then go ahead

Yes. In the common areas of the house, we have either hardwood or tile. We only have carpet in the bedrooms.

I'm Vietnamese and usually Asian families don't like it when people wear shoes in their house. But we don't want to be rude to guests so we just let them wear shoes in our house.
